MJ's little flock

Apologies to @BY Bob

But today I'm very grateful for three eggs from three little sweethearts.

Sandy's is on the left. Mary's is the white one.

I love seeing others eggs. Those look very delicious. We just bought our 2nd dozen. It's distressing. They just don't taste as good. I'm afraid this will be all winter now.

@BY Bob: next time you buy chickens you might want to consider some BRs. They are winter layers & mine laid through their molt as well. You are in a much cooler climate so you probably wouldn't have broody issues either.

Could just get another leghorn too. They never stop! I will consider it though. I think they are cool birds. I actually like that my girls take time off. I feel like it gives the reproductive system a little down time. I do have cob webs in my nesting boxes right now. That's sad. :(

I have a feeling a coloured egg laying pullet or two will show up at Fluffy Butt Acres sometime over the next few years.

My wife is set on adding at least 1 Polish. I may have missed my window on colored egg layers. Polish don't seem to be great egg layers either. I may need to add a steady layer at the same time. It is fun to speculate.
