MJ's little flock

How frustrating! It triggered a bitter-funny memory of when my Dad died.
It is all a bit of a blur (I wasn't at my best) but I had to collect his ashes and personal effects and go to prepare his house for folk to come and pay respects and remember him.
I got off a very long flight, rented a car, and stopped on the way for provisions. That is when I locked the keys in the rental car in the grocery store parking lot.
The car rental company didn't answer the phone. The road-side assistance service that came with the car rental took 2 hours to show up and then said they couldn't do anything without destroying the car.
I think I burst into tears and a pretty rough looking young lad approached me and said he and his friend had a lot of experience of car locks. Hmmm! Well he and his friend had that car open in about 30 seconds flat. I swear I kissed them both to their astonishment. Hope they went straight after that but I doubt it!
Sorry - nothing to do with chickens - just it flooded back when I read your post.
I had something similar happen ~ only it was a flat tire. While I do know how to change a tire I lack the physical strength to undo the nuts . I'd pulled over on the verge looking little, old, frail & helpless ~ & rather wild eyed & panicked I'm sure, as it was getting dark. This car drove past, threw a uie & came back. Out hopped this big, muscled, tatted guy. I about died on the spot but he was a professional mechanic with all the best tools & had my tire changed in about 5 seconds flat. His name was Jeff & he was my angel that evening! :D

Here's this morning's breakfast. I have a feeling you've seen this teacup already. If not, it's the last of the collection. I had a hankering for ceramics this morning so ol' dribbler has come off the shelf and onto the table.

Peggy's eggs!

And here she is with her bestie yesterday afternoon.

Barely lifting her head from a scrap of lettuce. No time for photo opps, this one.

Are the tribe 1 men still fighting? Little devils.
Yup, they're still at it.:(
This morning at breakfast, Cillin kept away from Treacle and they went off their separate ways without fighting. This is very unusual. Normally Treacle heads over to the duck houses first with a few of the hens and eats. When Cillin arrives a few minutes later, Treacle will leave the food and move on. Cillin didn't force the issue this morning and left Treacle and the hens until they moved off of their own free will.
However, they've just kicked off again outside my house.

I've been so disgusted with the antics in Tribe 1 I spent much of my chicken time today with Tribe 3.
L to R. Notch. Notice how he still has tail feathers and a nice looking comb. Knock, Donk and Myth.

That is how a rooster is supposed to look. At least by hanging with others they won't give you stress every time they act up.

Good evening everyone 😊

Shopping went as it normally does, way too many people and noisy. Hopefully we have enough stuff that we won't need to go back for awhile. The crowds make my head hurt more right now :(
It is an accomplishment none the less. Good job.

I like how car hire places just barely provide customer care. Any less and it would be conspicuous by its absence.

Yesterday was not my first "where did I put the keys?" moment. It's usually caused by an ill-timed distraction. Yesterday I dropped my sunglasses just as I was opening the car door and was anxious to pick them up, so anxious it suppressed the "take the keys" muscle memory. Anyway, I have backups planted here and there. One call and the help of a loved one was on the way.
Planning to make errors. I should have known you would have a plan to put into action.
