This one I remember as I Googled "lizard drinking" and immediately got the sarcasm. I knew that one. I may start using "sinking some tins". I like that one.

Hubbie is wrong. It's definitely a thing round here ~ though p'raps they don't refer to it as sinking tinnies. It's just what they do. I have a whole story that goes with that.That can be taken as drinking some beers or drilling holes in the bottom of aluminium boats (also referred to as ‘tinnies’).
I was going to suggest that drilling holes in the bottom of an aluminium boat could also be ‘sinking tinnies’ but hubby said that wasn’t a thing, so I didn’t.
