There was a pro crabber here who used to go down the RSL [to sink a few tinnies ] & when he got a few sheets to the wind he started telling everyone about all the pots he'd robbed. Unfortunately for him the robbees were amongst his listeners so they drilled a set of holes in his work tinnie, towed it into deep water [motor attached] & let it sink below the waves. Island justice. No~one knows nothin'!

"tinnies" Bob! But sometimes it refers to a small metal boat, so you have to interpret context too.

Even more so if one writes 'going to sink a few tinnies'.
