MJ's little flock

Oh, they don't chase the cicadas. The cicadas don't stand a chance.

They chase each other. Mine! Mine! Mine!

This is what the cicadas look like this year (thumbnail size for the people who don't like bugs)

The thumbnails are quite big! Scroll fast if you can't stand bugs!

But they are quite beautiful. Look at those 3 gold dots on it's forehead. 🥰

We didn't get that many this year. Two years ago we had lots.

In my life I have seen so many cover the ground that it looks like the earth is moving. It's too many and I hope to never see that again.

When we bought our house it was infested with cockroaches. At night the outdoor laundry wall was so covered in them it was like the wall was moving. Now THAT would have been the time to have chickens! :sick

Our grandparents once took us on summer holiday to a cottage in a rural beach town. The very first morning we woke up to find the kitchen floor smothered with dead black beetles. It was very eery and gross :sick

Dear little Ivy gave me a wonderful treat this morning: she took a good scratch while perched on my knee :love
