It's not to everyone's taste but I love it there's some very interesting contemporary pop music on a show called The Sound. It's on the ABC. Some of today's youngsters are being very inventive with their poetry and musicianship.

It's more I don't like noise so I've never been one to just turn the radio on for background. I've usually been quite intentional about music when I listen to it & I have ended up with odd tastes. I came out of the hippie folk stuff [Baez, Dylan et al] didn't listen to anything all through the 70's, 80, & 90's until YD started singing training ~ which was classical, but gave me experience with a huge range of musical styles. Now I have you tube so can listen to some stuff I'd never have heard otherwise like the HU or Omnia, throat singing, jolk....a pretty endless list of stuff that is anything but mainstream. I don't like it all but I like to hear the variety.

I think the first song is really good and meets the criteria but the second is a real downer. I'm not saying it's a bad song, I like it. I just think it misses the energize point. That did not energize me.

I'm a big funk and soul fan. I quite like Blondie and Queen but it's pop. Great for the Radio but not what I would sit down and listen to. I have albums from both but I rarely listen to them.
If I go out to listen to music I go to a classical concert. I can't listen to classical on my stereo.
I like some modern jazz and big band jazz.
I've got 2390 albums and about 70% are Funk, Jazz and Soul......just saying.....
