I love it! Chicken mugs are a charm! I have a set of mugs myself! Got them from my late grandmother, reminds me of a beautiful roo I had to give away a couple years ago because he was such a jerk.

He's using those stories to make a point about love. He's not using them in their own right. Same as the verse about Jesus in Suzanne.
