MJ's little flock

The last time I took Davis to the vet I could not find his carrier so I resorted to the old cardboard box. Here he is on the ride home.

And that is why I don't do cats in boxes. I get the added joy of unhappy yowling. Mine do not like cars.

That is one gorgeous kitty though, Bob!

Good evening MJ :frow

Good evening MJ :)
Hi rjohns and grammy :frow Hope life is treating you well! I had a lovely dinner with the cousins last night :) Another busy day today, but I can scamper home around 2 to let the hens out, so they'll be happy about that. Today's forecast is 33C which is around 90F i think (I haven't checked) so I may put the misting system on before I leave.

Poor fella. I'd avoid the vet too if I were you. Did he have a bad experience?
No. He's just a high stress cat. It's to do with his strong bonding. Just after we got him I went to visit my mum & Marlow fretted the whole time because I was his person & his safe place but a couple of hours after I got home I had to do a visit with a friend who was only on the island for a few hours. I got a frantic phone call because Marlow had suddenly become really ill. I rushed him to the Vet, who was really concerned, gave him a pick me up injection & wanted to keep him overnight for monitoring. I know my cat & knew that would stress him even more so he came home with me. He was so relieved but he stuck to me like glue for days & his night purr was so loud it was hard to sleep. His brother's not nearly so neurotic.

When I was breeding/showing Cockers, ONLY one was hysterical going to the vet. We used to call her "The Whirling Dervish." She'd grab everything with her paws, like the door once we were going through. All the ashtrays off the magazine tables. You can see how long ago - no ash trays anymore.

Well she did have reason, vet spayed her, vet removed all her mams because he said they could go cancerous- HUH! That bothered her the most - she really suffered.

I was in my 20's then and believed - some how that he was right.:idunno

I love cats, but haven't had one since our 17 year old cat passed away-he grew up with the kids and was a world traveler.

I'm happy you had a nice dinner with family :). Busy days are good for us :) Our temps are in the 60's for now and then we have another storm coming through tonight with more rain. Your birds are lucky to have you :)
