Aww that's sweet. It's only when Mary's asleep that I can touch her without panic.Bessie got bedtime cuddles. Charlie gets the occasional one but she has started squatting for me, so I haven’t been cuddling her as much.

They make the most beautiful noises
Since my last update, I could hear Janet scratching in an attempt to make a nest, so I put some straw in a copper drum and turned it on its side. She's in there now, making it comfy. Usually it holds the firewood in the living room, but not today![]()
My neighbour suggested I make a shelter from hay bales before the next heat wave. It's a good idea. I'll give it a try.
I'm thinking two bales psitioned parallel but maybe a metre apart, planks of wood spanning the gap, then four bales across the top.it would be open both ends. I could run the sprinkler at one end so the ground stays wet and any breeze will pick up a mist.
I'm going to put her on a program of night time snuggles. Not sure if it'll make a difference, but it's woea try.
I lie on my bed some days in the mid summer and the chickens know my house is cool and turn up after morning forage. Listening to them chat is one of my favorite past times.
I must mention though, when the roosters crow it is pretty loud in the house.![]()
Anticsis the right word. They're little monkeys in chicken outfits.Good evening folks
I really enjoy reading the antics of your girls![]()
I live in great-grandfather's house and not a week goes by without feeling grateful to him for providing such a delightful home, and that tub often features in my stress management.I love seeing the chooks in the house, but what I like most is that gorgeous soaking tub!! My oh my the hours I could spend in there!
