I've added "go see Hawaiian beach chickens" to my bucket list![]()
I've got an uninvited guest in my house atm. I think it was my next door neighbor who lived in the next hole in the wall down. For those that don't know my house is earth bermed (three walls and roof under ground)
What I think has happened is my next door neighbor has been popping round during the day for a bit of food and a look around and has decided that not all holes in the wall are equal.
I think it's a she and she's been here for 3 days at least.
I have chickens in the house most days; sometimes lots. Yup, they do crap on the floor and on occasions can be rather noisy. But, they don't go in the bedroom, don't climb around much and haven't broken anything since they've been coming round.
My next door neighbor just has no respect. She's ruined a pair of jeans, a shirt, broken one of my picture frames, eaten my last banana and helped herself to my wholemeal bread; didn't even bother to cut a slice, just got stuck in. What annoys me most though is she has taken to sitting in my armchair at night. From the amount of droppings it looks like she's there all night!
She makes so much noise crashing about the house, I have to put ear plugs in to get any sleep.
Anyway, enough is enough and I set out to evict her. I've only got thirty something square meters of floor to search and not many places to hide. I can look under everything except the fridge.
I found her in one of my drawers. She made a bolt for it once discovered. I though hse went out the door but the next night the evidence suggested different.
I finally located her behind the cooker but I can't drag the cooker out and catch her.
I had to block underneath the cooker off and tonight I'm going to lash up the trap so it's trap or don't eat.
You mark my words, chickens in the house, cool. Rats just don't behave as well!
Yup, I know the floor needs sweeping and mopping. I just haven't got to it yet.
