What do your cats make of the sea breeze?

You know cats. They find the coolest spot where the breeze is best & spread themselves out like a blanket to catch every last whisper! And their noses twitch like crazy any time it smells particularly interesting!

My horses loved their days at the beach. They were perky for days afterwards

Yes, thank you @BY Bob and @CrazyChookChookLady , you are a wealth of knowledge! I feel better about that, especially as I will have to use the tarp to hang from the cage roof to provide shade; the hen houses are getting quite hot and the girls are sitting on the nests, panting!

The vet is 30 minutes drive away, but Sandy enjoys riding in the car these days. He keeps his own flock of hens and is the only provider of chicken hysterectomies in Adelaide, so he gets all the referrals. If his colleagues trust him with their clients, I can too.

When I thought she wasn't going to make it, I stopped so she could look at the sea.

She stared at it for a full minute, which I'm sure you'll agree is a long time for a chicken. I'm glad she had that minute of sea-staring.

I love that picture of Sandy looking out at the ocean. You could print it out as an 8x10 and frame it.

That would be a lovely tribute. I am going to make a scrapbook of my girls, but I haven’t got around to it yet.

Actually, there’s a lady in my new chicken book who made a fantastic commemoration of her girls who were lost to a fox; she had their feathers tattooed on the inside of her arm.
