MJ's little flock

This is Hinge. She's been fighting with Nolia. Both had blood dripping over their beaks yesterday.
The odd patch hanging below her right ear is a flap of skin. She got attacked by a hawk many months ago and after a quick bit of stitching in a section below the flap, I left the upper part alone as it was to close too her throat and ear to risk cutting or stitching.

This is Nolia.
There is a problem here I haven't seen mentioned on BYC. We use straw for bedding and the quality isn't that great. In the straw live tiny mites. I am allergic to these mites and so are many other people. Oddly the bantams here, or at least some of them are also allergic to them and they get a rash on their legs. It's not Scaly Leg mite, it's something different.

I check on Mel's sides from time to time. She had 14 stitches from a hawk attack and it took a while for the feathers to regrow.

That are quite beautiful. What a lovely flock. Thanks for sharing their photos. I feel like I am getting to know them a little better.
