What kind of hen did you decide she is? I don't know a lot about chickens but she is one of the most striking ones I have seen. Just gorgeous - in my opinion anyway!

She's no breed, just Ivy my best info is part wyandotte, part brahma, part something with a crest (maybe silkie).

That looks like a really good quality dust bath MJ. Spacious with lots of fine sand.

I can't take credit. Janet dug it up real good all I do is remove the occasional stone or bit of old rubbish. We live on a peninsula which is a big sand bar. So it was easy for Janet to make it special.

I hope you're right. It's certainly spacious. But there's little forage at present. We're expecting rain this weekend so perhaps some new shoots will appear in the yard then disappear into chickens. I was pleased to see Mary helping herself to grain from the new dispenser this morning.
