MJ's little flock

You know I am always on the look out for improvement ideas for the Chicken Palace. A long branch on the ground sounds like the perfect compromise between my desire to give them food 'on something' and their desire to throw it on the ground.
I look forward to a picture!
I use a long plank slightly lifted off the ground, which I put their food bowls on. It's long enough for everyone to have a bowl.

So far, Ive stopped short of table linen and napkins, but who knows what might happen as I get older and quirkier!

I feel inadequate. Mine don't get plates. I have a cast iron loaf pan that I tip kitchen scraps into - and that works fine except the first task is to pull it all out onto the floor and I think they prefer me scattering scraps directly on the ground. They may be Princesses, but they don't have good table manners!

I started providing separate bowls to reduce pecking and then it became a habit. It's only for the breakfast and evening mashes which became mandatory when Peggy started on enzymes. The rest of the dat, they eat dry food from dispensers and whatever they can rustle up in the yard.

Hmmmm I wonder if the bowls reduce parasite uptake

Saturday breakfast!

This time I showed the tea strainer in use in case anyone is curious about it.

I don't often use the orange tea cup but I was in the mood for it. It was a gift from one of my long time besties :love The saucer is all swirly and nice to look at.

Janet's amazing eggs on toast. I swear her eggs are a deeper eggy flavour than the others' eggs. Scrumptious!

Mrs BY Bob was cooking a pie when I said new tea cup. She came running, dough in her hands, just to see this week's tea cup!

She loves it! :love :love
