The winter egg drought has broken!

This is the first time 3 of the girls have laid at the same time.

White- Deana
Blue- Pepper
Brown- Edwina

Deana is still laying thin shelled eggs and I usually find them broken but it is still exciting!

Edwina's is quite a dark brown!

Edwina's is quite a dark brown!

Yes, she is an Araucana x Marans I think.
I always feel slightly superior when other people talk about their "brown" eggs.

Do you put calcium additive in the water? I’ve started doing that again since Lucy is laying.

I have 4 waterers available for the girls one of which has calcium supplement in it. Interestingly, Deana seems to prefer it to the other 3. They have access to a variety of shell grit during the day too.

MJ we're doing well. Sue is still ahead of all the mile markers on the recovery chart. She's started to get some swelling in her left leg and foot, so we're trying to figure that out.
