MJ's little flock

It's good news everybody, good news!!

I don't have details because the receptionist who called me didn't really know, but I'm picking her up at 4.30 and will have a thorough chat with Mark.

Peggy lives on!!!!

The little grumpy bum :love:love:love
That is amazing! I'm so happy for you and her both! :wee:wee:yesss::highfive:

I'm so glad I stayed up! WOOHOO!

She's got hepatic lipidosis.

Probably the others have it too but not as advanced. So it's higher protein and low fat from here. Also, I have to give Peggy Clavulox drops for a week, which is scary because it's an oral dose. I'll borrow a headlamp and do it at night. Dazzling her with the headlamp might just work in my favour.

I've attached the list of supplements which are to be added to the hens' diet for week. And they have to switch to a pellet called Champion Layer which has higher protein than Golden Yolk.

Very pleased to read that Peggy's problems are not terminal. How did Peggy do was on my mind this morning which is why I'm writing this now.
Please keep a record and post it on everything that happens.
Not many have access to such a capable vet and it's quite likely that the advice people get given by the hens symptoms are incorrect. A proper record migh help save other chickens.

I understand. I'll try to Shad. Please remind me if ever you think it's appropriate.
