Are you sure the feet are feathered? I’m not really seeing that. If so, I would guess a Golden Laced Cochin. It just doesn’t look as fluffy as a cochin to me.

A good day today. The little pullets (Snow and Belle) have been in the run all day with Bokky, the ISA.
She had a few charges and a feather grab here or there, her annoyed and loud vocalisation ceased after about an hour this morning, but most of the day they have been lazing around ‘together’, Bok under her coop and the wee ones under the nesting box with the wall of wire between. I got a small bag of scratch to use to distract Bok with but with all fingers crossed it won’t be as necessary for that reason, it can just be a treat for her until it’s used up.
So close to cohesion! It’s giving me great hope that they will mesh sooner than I thought. I’m guessing things can go from good to bad quickly though? First time integrator here so am I living in a dream world of rainbows and lollipops? hahaha
They don’t challenge her, they get the fact she’s the boss, and maybe being so young makes that part easier?
Going to leave them out together until bedtime, I think the pullets will go back to their own cubby house but it would be so cute if they follow Bok

I’ve found it much easier to integrate younger pullets. But it all depends on the personalities. Also I’m not seeing any super clear “Cockerel” indicators... but you can always get the occasional stealth Rooster that slips in. How old is Bok Bok and has she been alone very long? Chickens are quite social and will usually tolerate even strangers at roosting time.

It not mature yet. The comb is small. Yes I'm sure about the feet. Don't you believe me?

Welcome scrambles83. Good to see another Victorian chicken person on the thread. I have spent a lot of time in Geelong for work. I love it there.

Good to be here. I grew up here,, lived in Melb for about 8 years (my husband is from up there) then came back to old stomping ground a few years ago and bought a house.

Bok will be coming up 3 in March. She has been alone since early November.

Does she get a trophy out a plaque, or something? I'm thinking I will keep track this year and maybe put a plaque in the coop for the top producer.

That's a great idea!

Have I mentioned her eggs are on the do not eat list? There's a residual clavulox risk from when she was recovering from her laparotomy. I'm repeating Dr Mark's advice here. I haven't yet had time to do my own reading.
