MJ's little flock

There's a lot more to it than I thought!

When the time comes, I'll ask for 3 eggs but I'll take 6 if the breeder insists. Once the housing is right, I'll get eggs for whoever becomes broody. I think it will be Ivy, but it could be Mary.

As usual I'm planning very far in advance! It's 1-2 years off I think.
But you like to have a plan. I like that you are thinking this out.

While i am thinking about it, is there a roof on the run yet?

That's great news. It's been a long time healing. Is that usually the case for bumbles?
Most people move right to a surgical option and don't do what @Shadrach is doing. He is going to write an article on it.

The surgical option appears to be much faster. I don't know that I have ever seen one treated this way before. There may not be any available information on what is normal.

*sigh*

Friday :fl

Once the run is finished, then the paving, then the nest boxes, then the roosting box, then the hens can begin sleeping in there.

At which point, the big coop will be available for other chickeny projects, like hatching.

You are so close. Hang in there. Has the summer heat broken yet?

It's been a very mild Summer. No heat waves, just a smattering of days hotter than 40. According to the weather folks, this is typical for the La Nina climate pattern, which is manifesting this year.

Sounds like it has been wonderful weather for you while @Ribh has not had it so good.

I almost got a snap of all four hens!

Well, technically all four are in it but they were scattering. And no one's looking at the camera :gig
