Lovely ! Look how tidy you table is too. I'm very impressed, I'm still stuck with extreme close ups.

Is that "The Voyage out" I see in the background? Also an original, built in solid fuel stove?

It's a small stack of "read these now" books and it's got two copies of The Voyage Out in it because the copy I ordered a few weeks ago arrived yesteday. I'll be sad to say farewell to the copy from the Colin Thiele collection, but I don't have to return it for a while yetLovely ! Look how tidy you table is too. It's very cute and eminently suited to gyoza lunch!Definitely Traditional.
Well, the plate is actually a preschoolers plate to keep the food in separate areas for picky eaters. So I suppose you could use it for kids.

This is so sweet! Chickens can be NICE sometimes. At last I've got a moment to share an interesting tale from last night's roosting shenanigans.
Ivy went up first, about 30 minutes ahead of Peggy. Once Peggy hopped up, they played ring a ring a rosie for about 10 minutes (the roosts are in a triangle configuration) and then settled down with Peggy in the top spot and Ivy as far away from Peggy as possible while still being on the roost.
Then Janet hopped up and claimed top spot from Peggy, who was relegated to the cheap seats beside Ivy, who was unimpressed with Peggy's incursion but, after some minor shuffling, she let out a big sigh and put up with it.
Here comes the good part.
Mary was last to turn in. She hopped on up and... Janet quietly and humbly gave her top spot!!! Then Janet quietly and affectionately stepped across the middle of the triangle to take second position next to her big friend.
They ended up with old friends at the back, on the triangle's apex. New friends at the front on the triangle's base.
Prior to this, I had never seen Janet relinquish her seat for anyone. In doing so, she placed herself between Mary and Peggy, who will peck Mary if she gets half a chance but wouldn't dare try pecking Janet. It was a first and I was proud of her.
Just goes to show, it's not a pecking "order" at all. It's more like a pecking arrangement.
Your table setting is just beautiful!I know it's not quite the weekend MJ but my tiny Chinese tea set just arrived and I wanted to show it off.

Who was saying that the Lavender and Shadrach mugs don't hold much? These little cups hold about as much as an egg cup. I end up drinking 3 of 4 tiny cups of tea at a sitting.
Here it is with my tea pet.

You may notice that I also bought a special draining trivet for my Tea Pet. I don't have to worry about overflows from one cup of tea now.
They can be very good to each other sometimes. It takes a long time before they trust and love each other though. This is so sweet! Chickens can be NICE sometimes.![]()
