MJ's little flock

Yes, that is quite worrying. Did he explain how he knew that was the problem?
First he looked at the eggs, then he felt her abdomen. Then he said "it looks like mild peritonitis, we'll put her on linco. That should clear it up."

I'm sorry, I'm not sure why those two actions he took indicated peritonitis. Heat? Tension? Both? Precisely where on her abdomen? How hot? How tense? Something else? Sorry, I just don't know.

PS I had told him those were the only two funny eggs she'd ever laid, so he knew it wasn't her normal.

I hope she responds quickly. Peritonitis is worrying.

That's good news about River! What treatment is she on?
Her oral thrush is back with a vengeance so Nilstat twice a day for two weeks. The vet gave her an antibiotic injection for mycoplasma and said she needs one a week for six to eight weeks, but as she’s responding so well, I hope it won’t have to be for that long.

What are her mycoplasma symptoms Loz?

I haven't even been trying to learn the allotment crew. Except for Henry and Matilda, who are so easy to recognise. When Shad said he couldn't tell them apart I knew I probably never would.

Well bear in mind until Elizabeth died I had two that were pretty tough to distinguish. So i have had some practice. Diana always had more white on her rump and helpfully over time developed white flecks on her head.

River had swelling under one eye, which was weeping. The vet said it was a blocked sinus, plus the gunk had blocked up one ear. The next day it looked the swelling had gone down and she was a lot more animated. I don’t know what mycoplasma is, it’s just the term he used.
