You know what, Lozzy? I think it was a little cockerel. At least, it had a pronounced comb for a chicken that didn't even hatch.

So I think we'll go with Magnus. That's the name of my great-grandfather whose house I live in and in whose garden little baby Magnus will lie in.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect Peggy of stepping on it or pressing down on it too hard.

There are still two eggs under Ivy, one of them is a non-starter and the other one had an embryo when I candled it.

Yes. And I was sitting right there, sticking to my decision to not interfere. In most cases, that would be the right thing to do, but in this one, I should've kept Peggy from going back into the nest once the chick had started hatching under Ivy.
