MJ's little flock

One of the possibilities I've been considering is making the roosting box walls come down lower than the floor to put more shade underneath. But I've realised it'll be a heat trap. So I won't do that. Instead I'll put shady plantings on the sunny side side. Four or five lilly pilly cultivars should do the trick. I've got them elsewhere and the hens don't eat them.

I've started moving the hens favourite feeder from the coop to the run every morning and back at night, and now Mary has a new trick.

She stands in one spot and sips to the left, munches to the right. At most, a small shuffle of the feet is required. Easy peasy.
