That's a very good point.I don’t know about becoming less effective, but for sure the dosing can be quite haphazard if one dose sits in the crop and another shoots right through the system.

Sounds good!Janet was exceptionally good in the car today. I let her out of the box almost immediately and she enjoyed watching the world go by for 30 minutes, then hopped down onto the floor for the rest of the ride home.
I'm so glad she's had her last shot. She must have sore spots by now.

There's still 45 minutes before roosting, but she's doing well.

Such pretty ladies!
I prefered it when Gloria gave me medication that could be injected. So much less fuss when chickens are too ill to eat.Such a relief. Third jab today. 4th and 5th to go. And Mark's not charging us for this round! What a lovely gesture.
Interestingly, he prefers injecting birds to oral administration because they're like reptiles in that sometimes they push food through without digesting it properly! I never knew that. I don't know if it holds for every bird or every chicken breed. I'd have thought meat chooks very good at digestion.
I also wonder if I misunderstood. Maybe he was talking about the crop as a larder. Maybe antibiotics lose effectiveness if they sit in the crop waiting to be digested.
