How many chickens do you think it can house? Its not very big and not very private
A few months ago, somehow I turned a corner with respect to trust and the hens let me do lots of things with them now. There was no panic or fear. I may be flattering myself, but I think maybe they all recognised my voice. A couple of times the scissors twisted instead of snipping through and that's when she stood up. But she sat down again almost immediately.Well done!
I have yet to try this terrifying task.
They're very tough. I was using my sharpest scissors yet they still weren't quite sharp enough. When I cut off my bard rocks stump I couldn't believe how hard it was to cut feathers lol.
Looking at the coop plans threads which I sometimes do I would say yours is perfect for a hot dry climateHow many chickens do you think it can house?
Do you think it should be more enclosed? Our summers are very hot and dry. Very hot = 3 or 4 non-consecutive weeks of temperatures 42-46 C, interspersed with weeks of temperatures low to high 30s. With no or very little humidity.
Blunt tips are very important. I might try to get a pair from the professional hairdressing supplies shop for next time. Or perhaps a pair of surgical scissors. It is very hard to cut feathers. You need very sharp scissors with blunt tips. Not easy to find.

There is always a lot of advice there about having an open coop where it is hot.
