Good evening folks

Whew, it's taken me eight months to jump onto my old computer in DH's black-hole of an office and retrieve the videos of me playing the piano! It was recorded on a relatively cheap Mini-DV camera with terrible sound, so I recorded the sound separately on a Zoom H4N recorder. It recorded it in 4:3 ratio (I did it in 2017) and the picture looked pretty terrible! So I saved them onto my current computer, ran them through iMovie again and played around with the colour and contrast. I couldn't convert it to 16:9 without severe cropping so there are black strips on the outsides but you get the whole picture and it looks better, although it still isn't great. But the sound is much better than if I had used the camera's mic so that's something.

There are seven pieces and it might take a bit of time to get through them so come and go at your leisure. I've made them public on my channel so you don't have to go hunting for the links.

Wow! Thank you for doing all that work on the audio and picture, I'll do one a day so I can give my full attention. The first one was delightful!

Wow! Thank you for doing all that work on the audio and picture, I'll do one a day so I can give my full attention. The first one was delightful!

Thank you everyone! I recorded them as I suspected I would never be able to play them that well again. I’ve barely touched the piano in 2 1/2 years but have started tinkering again. There’s nothing quite like hearing some kid play a piece that you can’t to get you motivated!

MJ I hope Mary is ok, I’ve been thinking about her.

Thanks Loz. To me, she seems recuperated, but I'm cautious by nature so I've dropped her off for radiography and signed the consent for the anaesthetic gas. Hoping it shows she's fine and can come home this afternoon.

She's being discharged at 6.50pm, so that's good! At least the images didn't convert into an overnight stay.

Mary hasn't come home. She's having two surgeries tomorrow. One to investigate and hopefully remove a tumour roughly the size of a tennis ball from between and behind her legs. It's been pushing her insides forward and preventing both her digestive and reproductive systems from functioning as they should. The other surgery is to empty her crop which must be done before the tumour can be examined. If the tumour can't be removed, they'll put her to sleep.
