She is adorable.
You have a place for them to escape the bigger girls in the fun run?Five days until Pullet Freedom Day!
Coincidentally, Pullet Freedom Day is also Peggy and Janet go to the vet day and maybe Mary's eggs will hatch day.
The plan: get Peg and Jan off the roost the night before, in the morning chaperone Ivy into the funrun as always, add pullets to the funrun, go to the vet appointment, release Jan and Peg into the funrun, get a cuppa and watch the shenanigans. Keep ears open for peeps in the nest. At the end of the day, let the gang out for foraging time, when the pullets roost in their usual spot, carry them into the big coop for the night.
If might take a few days for the pullets to decide to roost in the big coop, but when they do, I'll clean out their room and refurbish it with fresh sawdust, then move the laundry chickens in and clean out the laundry.
Does that seem ok?
She is mine. I love her look and introspection. I have hopes that her and Ivy will get along splendidly.I think she's my favourite.
Sort of. They're much better at hopping up on things than the old girls are and there are lots of options for going up.You have a place for them to escape the bigger girls in the fun run?
I was thinking maybe the two Barnevelders might team up even though they don't look the same. She is mine. I love her look and introspection. I have hopes that her and Ivy will get along splendidly.
It's a great suggestion and far, far better than Mrs and Brown. If they are collectively known as the river chicks then what about Ebb and Tide for names.
