What a truly horrendous thing to happen to them, both their children dying like that! Lorna must have astronomical amounts of resilience.

They were strong. And loving. They had a strong and loving extended family. And they had time.

I don't know that much more was needed.

Had to be me. Right? From day one I have thought cookie chicken.

I had no idea there was a food product called Lorna.

The real Lorna would have laughed at that and bought a packet for her cupboard as a joke.

Just making a note that Mary has a sore eye today. She had quite a bit of pecking from the river chickens yesterday. Maybe one of them got her in the eye.

Anyway, she didn't want to come out this morning and that's ok with me. I've left her in the big coop.

I'll try to work out how that might be achieved. It's a closed system that takes clean drinking water. I could maybe put some bleach in the filter then run water through?

Vinegar would work too, and might be easier on the system than bleach.
