MJ's little flock

They don't deserve you.
They do. It's the professional society and I'm contributing unpaid volunteer leadership. It matters for all sorts of reasons from migration skills assessments to uni program accreditations to supporting school teachers to networking and professional development.

The reason the blue-ringed octopus is deadly is that its venom can paralyse muscles. The muscles you use to breathe stop working. I was taught decades ago on a first-aid course that if you can give a bite victim mouth-to-mouth for about 30 minutes, the venom wears off and they survive. I don’t know if that’s still the position as you’re breathing carbon dioxide into someone for half an hour, but if it stops them from dying, it’s got to be better than nothing.

Everyone knows spear fishing is attracts sharks and that blue ringed octopuses are known to live in shells. These details were in my primary school education and I've avoided spear fishing and picking up shells ever since.

People should know better.
I didn’t learn that at primary school, but then again I went to a land-locked catholic school. 🤔
