MJ's little flock

It seems like Eli is your problem chook even though she doesn't bite you. Big eggs are such a worry, maybe her eggs will be smaller in her next season? After all the therapy Bernie underwent as a little one, she's earned a few bites from time to time. And Babs is your good girl. No biting, no roosting up high.
Here is today’s monster egg from Eli. She is half the size of Bernie who lays the dark brown one.
I am traveling right now so the picture was from the lady who comes in to care for the animals. She weighed the big egg as a shade under 3oz. Sigh.
The egg on the upper level with an x on it is the ceramic egg.

That vegetation behind the hens looks like a great spot for some shade and cover!
It's quite good. It's the hens favourite shady spot for evenings. Their day time shady spot is beside the driveway, where there's a thick canopy. That's where the treadle feeder is.

That's very big for a little hen! Any ideas about why it's happening?

Here's today's photo of Janet giving me a driving lesson.

Mirrors. Change down and brake. Feather feet, feather feet. Mirrors. Change down and feather the brake. Mirrors! Indicate. Turn. Slowly. Slowly! Now. What did you do wrong? (Not slow enough) That's right, now you'll know to do it better next time. Achhoooo!

She sat there the whole time, cool as a cucumber. I think she likes being positioned directly in front of the air-conditioning vent. Such a refreshing cool breeze!
