MJ's little flock

Today marks the end of the peach season. I see one peach still on a tree but way too high to reach and I am sure it will be gone by the morning.
I gave away 20-30 pound of peaches and I have been baking nonstop.
I still have a fridge full so will keep baking a bit more.
I feel I am perfecting my technique - compare first tart of the season to the one I am about to put in the oven.
Only Piglet and the ants are still excited about peaches. Even the deer have moved on!
And now the apples are ripe!

I don't know whether to commiserate or congratulate. Commisulations RC!

And that tart looks wonderful.

😊
Now I am embarrassed

I have not used the zapper much but I have had the other one that traps the mosquitoes running and just now I was sitting out having lunch with a friend and we took a look at the little cage area and it is absolutely PACKED with them.
I guess I need to wait for them to die before feeding them to the chickens.
Letting them die first is good practice.

What a wonderful treat that has been for all of you.

Wonderful news Bob! Can she have her medicine wrapped in a treat? Mary became very keen on her bread bits soaked in Ibuprofen.
The stuff has a funny taste and it is a full 1 ml. It's a lot to hide in food and if she catches the taste she spits it out. Sadly Hattie is not a gulper. I thought about blueberries which she does swallow whole but that would require a fine needle and numerous blueberries. I may yet try them.

I'm open to suggestions.

Could it be blitzed with something she likes and mixed with corn?

I don’t know about vacuum - it has a fan that draws them in or stops them getting out. And from today’s inspection it has trapped many!

Ah! Yes, the fan creates a vacuum and the device releases CO2, which is what attracts mosquitoes to humans. It should catch more mozzies than other insects, which is good as many insects are beneficial.

Yes. I was concerned about bees.
There are some moths in there but mostly mozzies
