MJ's little flock

Don’t want the maggies swooping our pigeons, but baby maggies are very cute!
No! They need a chance to flourish.

I like the way baby ones ask for a snack eeee eeee eeee

Christa was unimpressed by the tea cosy. Possibly even mortified.

On the subject of magpies, the family who live on our street are not swoopers (except at pigeons, for the laughs). So when one came to say hi as I ate my breakfast outside at the new picnic table I was delighted. We spent a very pleasant five minutes and I was allowed to take a photo.

Also, Janet hopped up to see if she could eat my scrambled eggs for me.

It wasn't a moment for a photo. More, a moment for shooing, lifting, and flying away.
That is a handsome bird

That is the best tea-cosy ever, and purple too!

My friends were wildlife carers and were looking after a baby magpie. Junior liked to sit on your head.

On Sunday another long term but small project will wrap up and be celebrated with a bbq.

A few years back I started pondering an outdoor dining table under the pergola dad built. After much web surfing and pondering of options, in September last year, I commissioned a picnic table. Extra long. Extra plank in the table top. Offset legs so people can sit without climbing in. Stained.

It took A LONG time to be delivered and when it arrived, it wasn't stained. No matter. At least it arrived.

Then it sat for a while at my place. First on the front porch, later in the living room. Then, my brother became available for doing handyman work!

Of course there were many jobs that needed doing before the picnic table, not least the new roost. But recently he's been staining the picnic table and on Sunday it's getting assembled and our uncle is visiting to help us lift it into place!

And we're going to have a bbq and use the picnic table! Cooked on the Webber dad won in a raffle about 30 years ago and never used! It's the Webber's debut too!

It's going to be lovely. I've got the wine chilling already.

And here are Christa and Edie whose friendship is blossoming since they started sleeping side by side.
