She always wanted a giant baby!
Does that mean most of the hens are newly feathered up before winter? Do you think LF's age is a factor?Everyone molted early here this year except Lady Featherington she has waited until the very last. It was odd because she molted her neck feathers and then took weeks off before dropping all of her other feathers.
Don't look RC these are from a week ago.
Wow, she's the picture of health! Such glossy feathers.Hope you don’t mind MJ but I wanted to share what a glorious chicken Tassels has grown up to be.
She is very fluffy and never moves out of the way, so sometimes I have to pick her up to move her aside. Oh the hardship! She doesn’t really like me doing that but I only do it when she just won’t move!

We've had thunder and lightening with heavy rain the last few hours. The hens are huddled underneath the new roost, and it's the first time they've used it for shelter! Not too bad here. Just like the forecast. A little light rain.
Well, there'll be no demolition today. Maybe tomorrow. And today is the day the demolition guys will be pulling down the old veranda. The start time has been pushed back to mid morning
Probably better for your nerves anyway.Well, there'll be no demolition today. Maybe tomorrow.
But tomorrow I must be in the office, then I'm going from the office directly to the airport because I have meetings in Sydney Thursday and Friday.
They may be taking the veranda down without me hovering in the background. The builder has promised to call or send photos if anything goes amiss.
I think so. I was a little anxious last night.Probably better for your nerves anyway.
Yes, everyone else is feathered. Hattie and Aurora molted at least a month earlier this year. I have no idea what Lady Featherington's normal is. This is her first full molt.Does that mean most of the hens are newly feathered up before winter? Do you think LF's age is a factor?
Drat! That means no photos for us.Well, there'll be no demolition today. Maybe tomorrow.

These never get old. I love them. Thank you for these little gifts. They brighten my day.
