MJ's little flock

:th
My idea of mild is high 20sC!
Haha! Yes, we do live in very different climates. I am amazed at the hot temperatures that many of you deal with on a regular basis.
Beatrice doesn't mind a little snow:

I will have to figure that out. I never seem to be able to move. I can spin around on my axis but not progress down a street.
Hmmm that's odd. Do you click on a blue line to stand on a street or do you drag the little yellow person to the street? I use the blue lines to descend to a street, then I follow the arrows once I'm down there.

@RoyalChick I'm trying a new tea and it's packaging says the leaves can be reused three times  I've never heard of such a thing! Have you?

On the whole, the tea itself is unimpressive. Weakly coloured and weakly flavoured. Nice big leaves though and it's won lots of awards.
Shocking. Just shocking.

Oh my goodness, Cesario will be thrilled to be featured in your weekly puzzle! 😉
I am stuck. I think it's too difficult for me !
Unfortunately I have to do them on my phone that has a small screen and I think that's part of the reason I fi d it difficult. I can't see all the pieces at once.
Yes, it starts to get light around 10:30 am at this time of year, but it is the cold that affects their behaviour the most. On cold days, Cesario sits on the roost and looks out the window, but on milder days like yesterday (-6C) he was out hanging out with the busy pullets. They just go and go!
They adapt certainly better than us. We are having your mild temperatures in the morning now, and my chickens come out for five to ten minutes when I open the coop at seven, then they go back in and wait until the sun comes out 😁.
I hope Cesario can continue to heal slowly. Rooster tend not to rest at all, so it could be helpful if he is forced to stay calm by the cold !

You need to switch to Google street view mode.

I used to drink tuocha tea, Chinese pu'er tea sold in nest shape, and they also expressly stated it could be rebrewed several times. It's a very specific type of tea though.

Rich spicy brew, my foot!
If you didn't like it at the first brew my guess is it will not improve after severals 😁.

Yes, I like mine a lot, so much so that I have three! The only problem I have found is that I haven't figured out a way to get them to close in the mid-summer when it never gets dark in our sub-arctic location. I trust them the rest of the year, although I still check on everyone every night anyway to make sure they got into the safety of the coop.

What I particularly like is not having to get up early in the morning to let them out!
I never thought about the fact that then light never goes dark enough for them to close. Do the chickens still roost? How do they know to go to sleep? Conversely, what do the chickens do when most of the day is dark?

I’ve got quite behind, with one thing or another (and your thread dropped off my notification list) but I wanted to add to this discussion.

Hubby and I used to live in the UK so got plenty of opportunities to travel. This was before smart phones so we’d use maps and Lonely Planet guides. Often we’d not be oriented the right way and walk off the map.

One visit to Brussels, we went south instead of north and found a big green park. There were kids playing soccer, the sun was shining and we bought lunch from a nearby sandwich shop. We had just come from rainy, cold London, and we sat in the park, ate our lunch and it was really pleasant. We never would have discovered it had we followed the map.
That sounds wonderful. 🥰
