Nope. I love the cold. As long as it confines itself to January and February.

Yes! It needed quite a bit of problem solving from Angelo the IT guy. In addition to the change cascading through the systems, it turned out the network address of the docking station had to be manually typed into the password changing software. Meanwhile I'd spent a couple of hours fretting and second-guessing myself, thinking I was typing the new password incorrectly (the system doesn't have that helpful eye icon that shows the characters you've typed in). So I blamed myself and requested a password reset. Twice. All along it was the docking station address causing the problem.

Just terrible.

That's actually very mild for Aurora. No one was drug out of the coop by the comb or head feathers. I guess it proves that both of the coop's are hers!

It's all hers. The others are meerly tolerated as guests who have overstayed their welcome. They are allowed to remain at her pleasure and only use what she deems they may.

Well, at my place things are amazing at roosting time. I've just been watching the hens wrap up for the day and there was no fighting at all.

Perhaps I've spoken too soon and when Ivy comes off the nest, it'll be fireworks.

The new roosting box is working out great! So is the gradual transition to mouse-proof feeders. It'll be another month or so, but then I should be able to remove the open tray feeders and trust the hens to use treadle feeders for their snacking. Mary and Christa have already swapped over. It's the other four I'm worried about.
