MJ's little flock

I've just remembered @BY Bob asked for updates on the veranda reconstruction project.

Today the scaffolding was replaced with props. The timber posts will be between the props. You can see how open and airy it is now 😍

Still to do: posts, rendering, finishes.

But those are fiddly, time-consuming tasks, so it'll be a while before the project's finished.

Look how wonderful! Thanks so much! It's coming along wonderfully.

Thank you Bob! I love the new look. The house will look welcoming for the first time in its life once it's finished. Best of all, it allows the afternoon sea breeze through far better than it used to and I can't wait to sit out there in summer and enjoy that breeze! :D

The next project is to move the side fence back a metre or two for improved security and so the meter can be accessed by the guy who comes to read it.

After that, the front fence will be replaced in 2025 or 2026, and then the front garden will be established in 2026 or 2027.

Then I'll circle back to the backyard and replace the garage and establish a back garden.

By then, it'll be time to do the roof, which is another very pricey project.

Then a safe bathroom will be put in and the unsafe bathroom will become the house's first conveniently placed toilet, something I'm very much looking forward to!

It's all very long term and will keep me going for a good long while :)

I just love that you have planned this all out. I am redoing the inside of our house in the same manner. 1 thing at a time. It will take years but I like that.

Some things should take a long time. The longer it takes, the more thought and care can be invested.

I made another Saturday morning video of the hens and it's packed with action! Unfortunately it's not packed with anything approaching skilled video making. My apologies.

I wanted to just delete it, but the hens did so many interesting things, I just couldn't.

And guest-starring Blossom! :love
