Who me? Would I ever? I can barely keep one eye open!

I've read that bantams are committed broodies and when I think about the various flocks I've come to know on byc, I have to agree. Merle in France and Snowy are the stand outs.

At my place, Ivy and Edie are the focussed broodies but they're easy to discourage with a little nest disruption and a couple of nights on the roost.
I had bantams in Catalonia and they were very independant and civilized by and large. They didn't invite human contact but this lot were not hysterical when I had to handle them.

They were ideal.

I'm getting to that point with the hens at my place. They're not bantams (except Peggy) but they are far less hysterical when I handle them than they used to be. I try to do a little very gentle handling often but not daily.
