A quick update on the ramp adjustments for Hattie. I added a small platform for her to step onto before going down the ramp.

I will try to get video of her getting up tomorrow morning to see if it helps.
My own coop remodeling this weekend required fewer tools. I deployed a large cardboard box to prevent Babs from roosting on the bar in front of the window.
Not very elegant, but seems to be effective.

It might take her a day or two to adjust, but it looks like it will make it much easier.

My older heavier hen, Nougat, also finds the first step on the ramp (to the roost) very hard. It's worse going up when she has to leave the ramp to go on the roost. It took her about a month to just agree to use the ramp (they had a ladder before).
These two pictures are wonderful.
That bird's legs and feet are so black !
