I had a foreboding today and rushed home early, half expecting to find the queen had moved on to greener pastures.

Last night I had a dream. Finding Ini mini in a tiny pool in the mud. Thought she was dead. But when I touched her she moved. I took her out from the pool and after breathing heavily a few times she made an attempt to get on her feed again.I had a foreboding today and rushed home early, half expecting to find the queen had moved on to greener pastures.

She's a dear old lady.Last night I had a dream. Finding Ini mini in a tiny pool in the mud. Thought she was dead. But when I touched her she moved. I took her out from the pool and after breathing heavily a few times she made an attempt to get on her feed again.
In the meantime the other chickens all came to see what was happening. Chatting and making strange noises.
… I don’t know what would have happened next bc I woke up.
30 minutes later I was glad to see Ini mini was okay. But obviously I am worried about her health bc I dreamt about her like this. She doesn’t look healthy anymore and is getting slow. Not strange after 11 years. So maybe this is her last year among us.

Mary had at least one giant mealworm today and she was quite pleased with it!I am so glad both matriarchs are still with us.
Make sure to spoil them both - they deserve it!
I'm so glad. She looks wonderful.I had a foreboding today and rushed home early, half expecting to find the queen had moved on to greener pastures.

She's very cute!!So, I said I wasn’t going to get any more chickens because I was too sad that they died too young at my place, but a rescue/rehoming situation came up, and I decided to take her. I’m also going to get the soil in the chook run tested for contaminants.
Meet Princess (named by my 14yo). She is currently in quarantine (as is Angel in the run), but as she’s tiny, hopefully the cage isn’t too small. I’ll also move it every couple of days so she gets fresh grass.
A big shout-out and thank you to @Wheredthischookcomefrom for looking after her. I’ll do my best to let her live her best chickeny life.
