MJ's little flock

So sweet!

The weather's lovely here too.
Im on a vacation to France and Switzerland and its awfully warm around here right now. Going elsewhere is not effective. A large part of Europe is extremely warm this week. The places we sort of (not) visited today were around 35-38°c. Streets were deserted. Very glad with airco in the car to make it possible to escape.

We are going home tomorrow, bc we couldnt find a nice place to stay higher up in the mountains. At home the temps are better (around 30°c). And our garden has a lots if shade.

What a gorgeous view!

35C is a bit hot. Is it humid too?

I never travel for holidays, home is the perfect restful environment for me. Also, I do a bit of travelling for work. I'm off to Lisbon in a few weeks.

@RoyalChick wordle 1516 made me think of you!
Oooh - I am just starting the one before that. Will do 1516 when it comes up for me in the morning.
Chicks are now free roaming in the Chicken Palace. The Aunties have had different responses. The first real peck was rather unexpected. Tiny chick (Chippy) jumped up and pecked Pooh's comb!
Poor Pooh, I think she was just trying to be friendly.

Now that Sarah's no longer attracting Mel's pecks, her assertiveness is growing - so much she's started harrassing Mary whose vision and mobility are not what they once were. Mary's been going to roost with a half empty crop for about a week while I waited for them to sort it out for themselves. Today she was so listless, she spent most of the day sitting down.

So I've intervened. Until I see Mary feeling a little more energetic, she will be staying in the run at dinner time and Sarah will be out until Mary's roosted. I don't mind if one or two of Mary's friends stay in with her, as long as she's free to fill up before roosting.

Not humid. A dry heat. But too much to do anything in the afternoon besides sitting in the shade, drice a car with airco , take a bath or go swimming.

I love a new scenery, the sea with rolling waves, mountains with high and bare peaks. Natural parks to hike. Other cultures which are not too strange or too far away, musea with art, architecture. So does my husband. So we like to travel when we have a vacation.

Lissabon has a beautiful old centre and the people are very friendly. There are a few amazing castles in the neighbourhood too. Do have a look if you can spend a little time in and around the city.
