MJ's little flock

How are you feeling MJ? Any better?
Thanks for asking RC. I'm just about done with the jetlag, and managed to stay up for dinner last night! I'm still testing positive for covid and coughing rather a lot and rather deeply but I feel ok, which says more about the effectiveness of the cold n flu tablets I've been taking than it does about my wellness.

Glad you are at least feeling better even if you are coughing a lot.
:hugs

I'm so glad to hear you are improving a least a little. I hope the trend continues. :hugs :hugs

A minor overshare... Yesterday it came to light that my my brother had been bullied at work by a new manager who was only a month into his probation, which has now been extended from 6 to 12 months. My brother has been at that workplace for a few years and has never had to stick up for himself until now. He's passed all his training (forklift, heavy vehicles) and was transitioned from casual to permanent. The manager and my brother both had separate meetings with the boss to tell their stories. The new manager provided the wrong gear and packed up the required tools yet called my brother 11 times to ask if he had finished the build. He never asked why it was taking so long. He never offered help. In the end, my brother lost his patience. During the debrief, he said I'm not usually rude in the workplace and the boss said, no, you're never rude. Then my brother became emotional because he felt seen and understood. His teammates are all backing him up too. He took a week off and recommenced his usual work a few days ago. They won't be putting him with the new manager again.

Kudos to the new manager's boss. Well handled. I'm very glad your brother felt heard.

From what I've been told, it seems they did everything right.

One of the teammates said the new manager had packed up so he could get to his evening job (he's a bouncer in the evenings). Another said he was running late for one of his supervised visits with his kids. Both of those details can be characterised as gossip, but still hint at his character.
