MJ's little flock

It looks utterly gorgeous. How soothing.

They've all been drinking water with lincospectin in it, so that's good. Sarah looooves it, Katie loathes it, but everyone has been sipping it down.

I think Mary has improved slightly. This afternoon she ate almost all her special treat (wet mash pellets with a tiny tin of corn kernels and a tiny tin of salmon). There are a few more days of treatment to go and a follow up appointment on the 10th.
I hope everyone improves. ❤️

That's very good news.

Mary's coughing has reduced and she was quite spritely a moment ago! She took 8 quick steps, which is nothing for a healthy hen but a big deal for one who's coming out of sickness.

And Sarah's poops are much improved - she had been very poopy but not to the point where I was worried enough to seek a vet's opinion. In addition to coryza, she must have had a bacterial infection upsetting her digestive system because after two days of lincospectin, her poops show thoroughly digested food, are a good green colour, with well-formed urates, and are holding shape when they land. Gosh they're big though.

It's 5.23pm and I've just arrived home from work.

Mary's crop is fuller than it's been for a while, so I assume she's been nibbling at pellets today. Peggy kindly dropped a poop for inspection and we agreed it was a good one for an old biddy who's done with eggs and who eats only to sustain herself.

I saw a team of 13 ducklings + mum + dad this afternoon. No video I'm afraid. I was too clumsy and the peepers were too fast on their feet.

Wordle 1592 was a lucky one for me. I solved it in 2 when the average is 4.5. I had 2 correct letters and 3 completely wrong in guess 1, like this: correct wrong wrong wrong correct. Then a person on a YouTube video that was playing in the background said a word that fit, so I tried it and it was the right answer!

Very lucky. I claim almost no credit.

Wonderful news! :clap :clap :clap

The lincospectin is helping all of them.

Not sure if it'll be the full cure for Mary, but she's improving.
Antibiotics also appear to have saved my Niamh. She came back to life around 5 pm today. She went from this....
