Sorry, MJ, didn't mean to side-track your thread. I am very enthusiastic about hemp - but was replying to @Mother of Chaos on their USA hemp sourcing.

Yes me too, but it still works out a better price than US$25 for 8 lbs. - reason I replied. You would pay US$93.75 for 30 lbs of that brand vs. US$55 for the Dominion brand.

Definitely better price per volume! Altho at our current rate of consumption, it would take about 5 years to go through 30 lbs. lol

Oh I see! I completely missed the context. I'm often so pre-occupied and busy with work I fail to fully comprehend context.

I am particularly infuriated by moving goal posts today. Actually, it's not so much the goal posts as a complete change of sport. YOU CAN'T PLAY GOLF ON A CRICKET PITCH, says I. But we can if you build us a golf course on it, says them.

Build your own damn golf course. Oh right, you don't even know how.

It's metaphorical. I'm trying to work with a team from an entirely different part of the University and they don't know what they're doing. First they ignored my emails for months, so I assumed no changes were necessary and proceeded to implement on that basis as time was running out. After time had runout, they said they need twice as much as I'd provided. I said, "well I needed to know that months ago, but ok, let me see what I can do." And through many hours of work and negotiation and rule bending, I made it work and wrapped it up a month ago, very late but done.

Today I was informed they want it back the other way again because they can't resource the extra hours they themselves had requested.

I declined. Then I was told, no we have to accommodate it. So my Christmas leave is cancelled to make time to put things back how they were six months ago.

*Internal scream*

The irony is that this team handles career readiness and they are by far the least professional team i have ever had to work with.

Well, I said I'd cancel my leave because there's no other way of being ready for March. There's no one to hand off to.

It's galling. I tried so hard to get info from that team. I gave them context, short written requests for info, detailed written requests for info, I've been talked over by them in meetings when I suggested they couldn't resource their aspirations, I've been humiliated for "letting" the project run late, I've had to pull strings and take shortcuts.

All. For. Nothing.

Even now, instead of owning up to being wrong all along, they're spinning it into a plea for uniformity. It was my colleague who informed me they can't resource their aspiration.

To provide some contrast I'm also working with the Aboriginal team who are also poorly resourced but because they worked with me all along, we resolved their aspect of the project to everyone's satisfaction long ago.
