Model Coop contest - entry deadline March 7,2011

ITS COMING!!! I cant stop adding to it, is the problem, but Ill have to stop today, so stop frettin! I needed a model coop for my model coop!
Btw, I dont think DH was aiming at cute....Tigerstripes is coming in today too. Have to paint mine for cuteness factor and hide mistakes etc and IM DONE! The plastic chickens are going to be gobbled up by the plastic cougars and wolves if I dont get them locked up soon

OK---it is DONE! I have to stop playing with it right now! Here is my story:

I take my basket and my dog and head down to let out the chickens and feed the pony. "Oh, what is that?" I put down my basket to take a picture of the cute little bunnies around the coop. "They must have gotten out again Sarge; we will round them up later. Let's get the eggs."

Well every thing looks OK here at the coop. "Look at those kitties sleeping on the welcome mat again!"


"Pony, get your nose out of the nest boxes! I need to get eggs. I will feed you next!"

Time to let the chickens out! Those silly bunnies want to get in there and get the left over feed. Chickens are so messy!

"Hey Sarge, let's go over to the other side and open the door to see if we need to clean out the coop today. Oh no! When did that hen go missing? Look she has a bunch of little fuzzy butts in her nest!"

SO we open the door to check out the inside of the coop:

If you look closely you can see the entrances to the nest boxes where we just collected eggs. At the back of the coop there is this handy pull-out for easy cleaning. I just rake it all right into the pony pasture to compost it.

Here is a shot of the eve vents. Ventilation is very important for chickens!

"Let's go back around and check those babies again OK?" So we walk around and set down the basket:

"Oh No! That Da#^ Rooster has spilled the egg basket again! Dont you just hate it when that happens on morning rounds?"

I hope you have enjoyed my "story" as much as I did making it up!

ETA: YES! It actually works! Now I need to get the vacuum out and clean up this MESS!

It's so cute! I love the story, and your creative use of beans (I think) for the eggs, and was it chocolate chips for chicken poop? Well done!

Terri O Could you PLEASE make the photos larger, I can't see them well even with my reading glasses. I'm sure you put lots of detail in but I can't see it well enough to know. I want your chance to be as good as everyone else - they did send larger photos.
