Modifications Made On Homemade Fridgebator

put 12 eggs under my 2 broody silkies 21 days ago( given to me by a farmer friend) . they got rid of a few which were no good. ended up with 7 good eggs which were kept. put them in warm water to see if they kicked and 5 were good. today is day 21 and we have 2 chicks so far and one more egg which is pipped. 4 eggs are still under the silkies but dont hold much hope. our silkies are under a year old so not bad for new mums.

final count of 89 eggs = 81 chicks hatched other 8 eggs 5 were unabled to zip and the other 3 died somewhere along the way, they were not fully developed.......81 out of 89 ....is not bad at all in my opinion........

now 2 more days for 2nd lockdown of fridgebator (50 eggs).....tic....toc....tic...toc......

Just found this post and read all the way thru... It got my heart a pumpin. I can't imagine hatching out that many.. Would love to try but what to do with them and mt incubator is small. But love seeing it.. That seems like an amazing hatch rate to me. I can't wait for the next batch!

1 more day for 2nd lockdown of fridgebator and i already have one zipping and all "cubanitos" or as folks know them "old english bantams" are pipped......chicks keep up popping out.....
