Hi Sam and Domino.
Am referring to the beginning here, viz., "Step 2 "Add 2x4 sections into base flooring." You lost me there. Am not modifying the Purina Plan, so am not sure what you are referring to when you say there are openings for mice.
Can you help with a simple interpretation. Am referring to the Purina Materials listing for the Floor Assembly: the listing seem to differ from their drawing.
E.g., They list (4) 2x4 - 42"
E.g., They list (2) 2x4 - 45"
E.g., (1) 3/4 plywood - 45"x45"
Their Floor Framing Drawing shows two sets of widths & lengths dimensions: Internally arrows 45" x 45", and another with external arrows 38" x 41"
This is confusing to me. I can understand the plywood dimensions. It will fit the internal arrows 45"x45". But, where do the 38" x41" dimensions fit? What do I do with the external 2x4s? I had Home Depot cut me (4) 2x4s that are 42" in length and (4) 2x4s that are 45" in length. So I have the lumber but am not sure of the meaning of the 38"x41"/
Please tell me what they mean! Will really appreciate that. Am just beginning!!!
The internal part is the inside of the floor and the part that shows 38" and 41" is to make the frame flush with the outside legs. Without it mice would get in. Make sure that you check your measurements again, since HD did them for you because sometimes the cuts can be off.
