Moldy food stuck on feathers/weak hen (Idiot owner)

Ignore the mess, I cleaned up after taking the photo.
The cage is bigger than how it looks in the photo.

Both boys have been treating her like a queen for the past 2 days.

It looks like she has a bit of a cross beak. With all those feathers and cross beak is she having trouble managing to eat?? Perhaps try wetting down her food for her and placing it in a deep pan/dish to see if she eats it.
They are lovely btw!!

I know that she has cross beak, the lady I got her from told me already. She's been fine eating food. Her head poof just makes it slightly hard for her to see where it is though.

Update:
Goldie Locks passed away while I was holding her. I was going to clean their cage again as they made a huge mess and she was the last one to be taken out.
Both boys are upset and I can tell because I think they knew she wasn't going to make it. They didn't want me to grab her, which is why she was last to be picked up, and one of them was sitting by her when I first walked up to the cage. Now they are crowing even though they are currently morning crowers. I'm sure they're letting the world know how upset they are.

I'm not sad, I'm just angry. Angry at myself because I could have saved her sooner had I asked last week when I first noticed that she was thin and beginning to become weak. I just assumed she wasn't eating enough and gave her extra scraps besides their feed.

I want to thank you all for trying to help save her and now I know what to use if I see a hen or chick is weak. I may ask first on here just in case it turns out to be something else but at least I get an idea of what is wrong.

so sorry:hugs:hit

So sorry for your loss. I am so glad that you held off bathing her. Many people give their very sick chickens baths, and that can push a weak chicken over the edge. Would you be interested in getting a necropsy from your state vet to get a diagnosis of why she died? I would be a little worried about something like Mareks disease. Here is a link for contacting your state vet:

I know why she died. She had a weak body to begin with but I refused to accept that.
I don't need to contact the state vet.
