Moldy Grass

Yesterday, I went to fill my chickens feeders. Underneath one, there was a bunch of dead, wet grass, and mold. A LOT of white, fuzzy mold. Personally, mold gives me the heebie jeebies I wasn't sure how to clean it off of grass. Do I need to get rid of it? Is it harmful? Can I prevent it it? So many questions

I would pull the grass out and throw it on a compost heap.......I would place the water in another place....
