Moles and chickens

Moles aren't typically deep diggers. A buried apron of wire around the perimeter of the run should be enough to keep moles out. Gophers and ground squirrels are deeper tunnelers and are more difficult to keep out.
None are actually dangerous to your chickens though. Chickens do enjoy using the freshly turned up earth for dust bathing. Earthworms and other bugs are often driven up to the surface by mole activity, which the chickens will also enjoy.

Hmmm...Never heard of species specific Fleas...If it has Blood it can get fleas...My Ducks got fleas from the straw as did my Dogs and the Cat....I even got bites and had to totally treat my animals and my house....
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flea:
Many of the known species are little studied. Some 600 species (a quarter of the total) are known from a single record from a single host. Over 94% of species are associated with mammalian hosts, and only about 3% of species can be considered to be specific parasites of birds. The fleas on birds are thought to have originated from mammalian fleas; at least sixteen separate groups of fleas switched to avian hosts during the evolutionary history of the Siphonaptera. Occurrences of fleas on reptiles is accidental, and fleas have been known to feed on the hemolymph (bloodlike body fluid) of ticks.[25]

we have moles quite a bit, (not near the chickens) but in our horse pasture, the only problem with them is where ever there a ton of them,we get badgers digging after them. (which in the case for horses is really bad as they can trip in the holes)

Okay this is for people who have no issue "whacking" the moles. Get some juicy fruit gum take a piece and stick it down in the mole tunnel but don't touch the gum with your fingers use the wrapper. This method will kill the moles and won't hurt the chickens as all they stand to get is either a piece of gum or a mole with really fresh breath.:)
