molting or depressed duck--with a happy ending

Okay it's been 21 days and one of the eggs is getting a darker band. I touched it and it is soft. Does this mean it's getting read to hatch? Or do I have a dud. I tried to candle but my flash light didn't let me see through the egg.
I have never had ducks hatch so I'm lost.
Anyone?????

Okay, I am asking about the egg at the top of the picture. The blue---what's that about???
Also I just noticed one of my chickens put an egg it----I also set five duck eggs. Yikes.

Well it is really too early for any breed---isn't it????
I know these are mixed breeds but every breed seems to be at least 28 days? Right?
Anyone know what the blueish tint is?

Small egg is chicken. Blue band thing... No clue. If you can try to smell it, if it stinks get it out, if not I would leave it be.

Oh no, yuck, I bet that is what it is since it's too soon to hatch. I will check in the morning because she always comes out to eat & take her bath then.
thanks

Yup, I even know which hen lays that shade of egg. Sneaky little hen as I've never seen her in the ducks box. I always spot checked as one of my brown hens that lays a large darker brown egg tries to get in with poor Duckie. So I looked for a dark brown egg---whereas the little hen's egg blended right in with the duck eggs. I didn't get much of a chance to count. Now I have no idea how long she has been sitting on it. We have rooster so it could be fertile. I guess I will have to candle it.

Okay I tried to smell the egg but it has no odor. Can you smell a rotten egg through the shell? Are they are really that bad? I know if it gets broken it is horrible.

I have seen pictures online of eggs that look blueish= here is one:

Well that was a lot longer than expected but it's an image on google that shows a duckling hatching. The eggs appear to have the blueish tinge too.
