Molting Terribly???

I had- til cop came-3 hens,rooster(it was bc of him discovering vocal box&apparently loved to hear himself sing to the othersthat I had to give away(given to me as chicks,I had no idea who was what),&2 ducks-also given to me as ducklings.But I visit them as much as I can bc Ithem&my heart has a void I go fill! But my 1st time raising-&I believe2-rooster&hen-are molting terribly. Him more!

That's not a molt. Other birds in the flock are feather pecking/plucking them.

Welcome to BYC! That is bad, I am sorry you had to give away your rooster. I agree, it doesn't look quite like a molt. They are probably just low on the pecking order, (as said before.) I hope you work it out! I may post a link here later for you.

SERIOUSLY?? The new owner acclimated mine to hers & said he is the pecking - leader?- the top guy. And that what I thought was molting started when with me & I never saw any plucking. What do I do now? If I can’t take them back? OhMyGosh I feel horrible!

Thank you for responding! I’ll fig something out! This whole thing all around just sucks & pisses me off! I loved my loud guy! but I can’t disrespect neighbors or disobey ordinances!

So sorry for you! I will try and get a link here for you, and maybe tag some people. Do you have fun activities to keep your hens busy with? If they aren't occupied it can result to pecking.
